TIPS TO BEING PRODUCTIVE

Unmotivated? Struggling to complete homework or studying that you know needs to get done! Below are some helpful tips to stay productive! The best thing for being productive and staying productive is consistency. A lot of non-productivity is caused by a lack of discipline or procrastination. That’s why it's important to get into a routine of getting things done, so you will automatically accomplish tasks!

  1. Just start!

No matter how much you do not want to, push yourself. You might actually realize that what you have been putting off is not as hard as you thought. Plus, once you complete one task, you’ll realize you can accomplish things! You will then be more inclined to finish other tasks. 2. Organize your time! If you have many things to do, it can feel overwhelming. All the “to-dos” can be scrambled inside your head and be keeping you stressed. Write them out. Then make an organized plan of the things you have to do. Estimate the amount of time it will take for you to complete each thing on the to do list. Then, set a time in the day for each task. This way, you know when you can stop doing something. Having a stop and start time is very efficient. It is also beneficial to organize your tasks in order of importance. This way you will recognize what needs to be done first, and what things are okay to put off for the day. 3. Give yourself a break! Breaks are important, and something to look forward to. When you're in the process of completing something, knowing you have a break can be really motivating. It is essential to, as it is tiring to work on too many things at once without a break. 4. Think about the feeling of accomplishment! It can be hard to start something and keep being productive. Think of how you will feel once the task is finally done! Also think about how bad you will feel if you get to the end of the day without getting the task done.

5. Hide distractions!

Phones, the television, and even family can take away your focus. Make sure to go somewhere quiet and hide anything that will encourage you to procrastinate. Silence your phone and put it in another room possibly. You could even create a distraction list, to identify all possible distractions and be sure to get them out of sight. 6. Give yourself credit! Reward yourself after finishing something! Even if it's a small task, you got it done! You deserve credit!
